OUR STORY
ToKens of Pera
Modern day Istanbul was known as Constantinople, during the time of the Byzantine empire and Pera was a district within the city at the time, where merchants from all over Europe came to trade their goods and share traditions. Pera has come to symbolize the point where a vast range of influences came to mold many parts of contemporary Turkish culture.
As a native Turk, I grew up with a deep appreciation for the heritage of artisanship in and across Turkey. The authenticity of this craftsmanship is identified by its unique patterns, natural materials, and distinct techniques that have been passed down for generations within local family businesses.

Along with my husband, who is from America, we lived in Istanbul and traveled around Turkey for years before recently moving to the New York City area. Tokens of Pera was born out of our vision of sharing this remarkable workmanship with the world through a unique blend of handpicked products.
